Chapter 7 : Rescue

Chapter 7: Rescue "Madam, please, it's alright. The children are fine. They are just trying out some sweets in the kitchen." said Brielle calmly. She wasn't good at lying and didn't want to risk the woman's wrath further. Perhaps if she just let her know the children were safe, she would calm down and stop yelling. Brielle knew that the pantry, where the children actually were wasn't really inside the kitchen but beside it. There was no way she was going to let the horrible woman get to the children.   Not on my watch. The woman suddenly lifted a fat, ringed hand and slapped Brielle across the face. She used so much force that Brielle was knocked to the ground. She hit her head against a food trolley and rolled across the floor a little before the friction could stop her.  Was the woman insane? Hitting her in the middle of a restaurant?   Brielle struggled to get up, but her twisted ankle and the swelling pain on the back of her head was too much. The woma...

Chapter 6: Anger

Chapter 6 : Anger Brielle's throat turned dry as she looked at Jack. He was staring at her, his flawlessly handsome face registering a look of amusement.   Not easily amused, huh? "My name is Brielle, and I shall be your server tonight." she said with a smile. She tried not to look at any of the three men at the table. She knew of she did, she would be distracted enough to make a mistake. Yet, as the men deliberated on their orders, she couldn't help sneaking a peek.  They were each handsome in their own way, the guy on the left was tanned perfectly and wore a gorgeous stubble, the other man beside him was blonde haired and grey-eyed, exceedingly good-looking with the pair of glasses at the bridge of his nose.  But Jack Dixon was by far the hottest. She couldn't ignore the taut muscles under the tight suit he wore. his chiseled body and the sexy voice. Brielle was having a difficult time keeping a straight face. "I'll have a vegetable soup and a croissant...

Chapter 4 : New Girl

Chapter 4 : New Girl He's such a handsome man . Brielle shook her head in vain as she watched Jack walk towards the hotel. "That's the owner." remarked the Manager catching her staring. "Come on, let’s go." "Oh. Right." Brielle wasn't truly surprised.  Of course, he owned a twenty-storey luxury hotel, that's just what billionaires did as side investments.  Brielle followed the Manager into the elevator, the doors closing as Jack Dixon stepped into the hotel lobby. The elevator stopped at the fourteenth floor and the attendant ushered them out. Brielle let out a surprised gasp.  "It's beautiful." she said. One side of the entire restaurant was made completely of glass. The beautiful city shone under the afternoon sun as she looked through them. It was like a view from a hill top. The tables were arranged near the glass so every customer could enjoy the magnificent scene. Brielle couldn't help but be mesmerized by ...

Chapter 3 : Shock

Chapter 3 :  "You said that? You seriously said that? Tell me you didn't say that." said Amanda earnestly. Brielle sighed. Why did she always ruin everything? "I'm sorry Amanda. I was so surprised that he asked me, I messed up." she said, looking at the menu. "Everything is so expensive here, I don't have any cash, just a ten-thousand-dollar cheque." "It’s alright. Lunch is on me." said Amanda calling the waiter. "We'll have a chicken lasagne for her and a crab salad for me." "I love you so much." said Brielle resting her chin on the table, as the waiter walked off. Her empty stomach growled in agreement. She had taken a shower and changed into more presentable clothes after class. But it had done little to ease her fatigue. Amanda pushed the glass of orange juice towards Brielle. She gratefully took a sip. "Brie you need to take better care of yourself. Is it necessary to go for the morning jogs...
