Chapter 6: Anger

Chapter 6 : Anger Brielle's throat turned dry as she looked at Jack. He was staring at her, his flawlessly handsome face registering a look of amusement.   Not easily amused, huh? "My name is Brielle, and I shall be your server tonight." she said with a smile. She tried not to look at any of the three men at the table. She knew of she did, she would be distracted enough to make a mistake. Yet, as the men deliberated on their orders, she couldn't help sneaking a peek.  They were each handsome in their own way, the guy on the left was tanned perfectly and wore a gorgeous stubble, the other man beside him was blonde haired and grey-eyed, exceedingly good-looking with the pair of glasses at the bridge of his nose.  But Jack Dixon was by far the hottest. She couldn't ignore the taut muscles under the tight suit he wore. his chiseled body and the sexy voice. Brielle was having a difficult time keeping a straight face. "I'll have a vegetable soup and a croissant

Chapter 2 : Surprise

Chapter 2 Brielle felt the temperature drop by at least ten degrees as she met his cold black eyes. He was standing at least a foot away, his tall frame obstructing the view. Not that he was bad to look at though. Just a bit scary. "Are you the woman who brought my father here?" he drawled. Brielle shivered at the tone of his voice.  "If you are talking about the elderly man who collapsed at the park this morning, then yes, I did." she said, rubbing her palms together nervously. She berated herself for swooning briefly over his handsome, clean shaved face. His attire and height made him look like a male model, she usually drooled over in magazines. Suits did wonders for men, pity so few of them realized it.   "I cannot thank you enough for your help." he said monotonously, his stony eyes boring into hers. Brielle suppressed a shudder.    "Really?" she couldn't help herself. "You sure look unhappy about it." "I a

Epilogue

Epilogue   13 years later: "Does this tuxedo make me look fat?" asked Axky trying to button up the coat.  "Um honey," started Paula hesitantly trying to say yes without hurting his feelings. "You see it's not your fault, it's mine. With Vicky being with us I sort of went overboard with cooking delicious stuff the last couple of months. It's totally normal that you would need a larger size---" "You  are  calling me fat!" exclaimed Axky melodramatically. "I can't believe it." "No! I mean yes, a little," said Paula cursing under her breath. Why was he so sensitive about his weight anyway? It wasn't like it was important to her. "That is it!" said Axky taking off the ill fitting coat. "My new diet starts now." "Axky you can't diet now." Said Paula exasperatedly. "It's Arthur's wedding next week. Then we are going on a vacation to Italy. How can you possibly pass up

Chapter 1 : Kindness

Love Me? Like You Do. Chapter 1 Brielle was panicking now. The elderly man was not waking up. He was lying on his back on the ground, his eyes closed and breathing deeply, his hands clutching his chest. Brielle sprinkled water over his face, but to no avail. Flustered, she pulled out her phone from her track pant pocket and dialled the number for an ambulance.  Welcome. Please dial 1 for ...  She obeyed the service operator for a while, but when she was put on hold for the third time, she lost her patience and kicked the leaves at her feet in frustration. "At this rate his condition will deteriorate." she thought.  Desperate, she looked at the man again, suddenly noticing a tiny card falling out of his breast pocket. She hesitantly picked it up and scrutinized it. In small neat handwriting four phone numbers were written, "Hospital - xxx909xx, Fire-xxx11xxx, Food- 00xxxx9xx, Car- 88xxxxx" Brielle searched both sides for a relative's contact number,
